How can agriculture contribute to the sustainable development of European cities? How can agriculture and horticulture create vital urban spaces that have new social and ecological qualities and are also economically viable?

In the last 4 years the COST Action has elaborated a European approach on the phenomenon of Urban Agriculture. The main findings and important policy recommendations are now published the book Urban Agriculture Europe.

As part of the urbanoSALON#6 researchers of COST Action present the project and the book. In conversation with actors from the local food and urban gardening scene in Cologne they try to adapt their findings to the local context

With:
Axel Timpe (RWTH Aachen, editor and author),
Rolf Born (Landwirtschaftskammer NRW, part of COST Action)
Katharina Schwartz (COLABOR, Ernährungsrat Köln & Umgebung)

& Anna Galda (urbanophil.net).

The event is organized by  urbanophil.net – Netzwerk für urbane Kultur e.V. in cooperation with JOVIS Publishers and SRL – Regionalgruppe NRW.
