Europe (to the power of) n started with the a priori statement that a rigorous, unambiguous definition of Europe – be it geographically or culturally – is impossible. In consequence, the art project places emphasis on a multi-layered and multiple Europe. This is last but not least expressed in the mathematical notation "Europe (to the power of) n“. Curators, artists, graphic designers and architects from different generations and cultural contexts examine the possibilities of a Europe that gives space to dissent and nevertheless finds ways of setting up a being-in-common. However, Europe (to the power of) n that took shape in various forms in eleven cities is not only concerned with artistic ideas about Europe but also with the regulatory framework, the various contexts and the conditions of art projects.
